Challenge
Document a scientific sailing expedition investigating microplastic pollution around Iceland while creating compelling visual storytelling for editorial publication.
Approach
Sailing aboard the schooner Opal from Húsavík to Reykjavík, I documented microplastic surveys, beach clean-ups, life at sea, and the landscapes encountered along the journey. The project combined documentary photography with environmental storytelling.
Outcome
Produced a comprehensive visual story published through Sidetracked Magazine, helping raise awareness about marine pollution and the importance of protecting Iceland's coastal ecosystems.
