The eclipse photograph

I can’t believe we nailed it.
We’ve been out here flying in the wilderness of East Greenland, setting up to align everything between earth, camera, paraglider, moon and sun, for the last two weeks. Nothing we had planned, scouted or practiced for this shoot has worked out and just yesterday I abandoned all our ideas and plans and hopes, to improvise a completely different approach instead.
Unrehearsed, untried and uncalculated we threw ourselves into this eclipse with a one in a million chance to make this shot work. Basically the pilots would have to hit this frame of a few pixels across the entire sky. With no reference but the sun.
Out of the five pilots that took off, after all of them missing the mark, the last one stuck ☀️
Full documentary about this expedition coming eventually. Memoirs and life story to follow.
