"Two waters meet. One bright from ice, the other dark from ash, both with a salty future, holding hands while heading out to the great seas to travel the world."
Shot while hanging out the open window of an airplane.
Knowing these rivers braid by braid from countless nights spent on Google maps over the years, we set out on a mission to not just see it with a drone, but to capture it from above with our own eyes.
We crossed over the highlands, trying to not get tempted to just circle around the usual classics and burn our fuel before reaching our goal. And it was worth it.
The abstraction of this place is almost impossible to comprehend in photos, but almost just as hard to grasp seeing it in real life. A bunch of drunk rivers fighting their way towards the ocean, looking for equilibrium but only getting systematically lost. And they go on for what seems like forever.
